Nestled in Braunton, North Devon – we were commissioned by the owners of this beautiful loft style property to handcraft an exaggerated rustic version of our Sail Loft no. 1. The aim: celebrate old-world charm in an open-plan loft where rugged local stone walls meet sweeping light. The owners wanted a table that could be more than just furniture — something with character to echo the texture of its surroundings, whilst managing the demands of modern family living.
We used Devon-grown ash, left with its milling marks and rough-hewn edges, then finished in lime-wash hard wax oil to accentuate its rustic beauty. The result? A piece that feels part of the architecture and the family — organic, warm, full of character.
It’s exactly the kind of table you imagine in a seaside loft: gathering there for long dinners, sharing stories, and letting in the sea breeze.
